“Gathering Elements” exhibition of artists,
Katharine Krieg and Bradley Hendershot
BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania – The visual arts department at Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) is proud to present the work of professional artists, Katharine Krieg and Bradley Hendershot, in an exhibit titled “Gathering Elements” with a free Opening Reception on September 2, 2022, 6-8 p.m., as part of Bethlehem Southside Arts District’s First Friday Celebration. This impressive exhibition presents nearly 50 works, including original paintings, studies and reproductions.
The school’s Corpora Art Gallery hosts a full program of professional and student exhibitions each school year. In addition to attracting the community for public events, professional artists and exhibits are also a great learning tool for students.
Charter Arts Director of Visual Arts Lorie Reinhard says: “We are so proud to host the”Gather itemsexhibit as part of our professional series. Katharine Krieg was a member of the Faculty of Visual Arts from 2015 to 2020 and we are very happy to have her back as a guest artist with Bradley Hendershot. The two artists will present workshops to visual arts students in October with a focus on combining resources.
The “Gathering Elements” The exhibit will be on display in the gallery until October 15, 2022. In addition to the First Friday of September reception, there will be another free public reception during Southside’s First Friday of October celebration. ABOUT THE CHARTER ARTS VISUAL ARTS DEPARTMENT:The Charter Arts Visual Arts Department provides a structured and classical art education. Students are rigorously trained in drawing, painting, sculpture, design and art history. The objective is to promote a return to excellence in the visual arts through intensive training and the establishment of high standards.
Presented as an academic and artistic activity, the courses encourage students to perceive the links between art and other subjects. Students build on learned concepts with the intention of gaining fluency, focus, a strong work ethic, and self-discipline. Through practice, study, analysis, reading and research, they learn to apply their intelligence and discernment to the art they create.
